White County Creative Writers
About Us
White County Creative Writers was founded in 1995. Our purpose is to support those interested in developing their writing skills, and our membership includes writers in all stages, from professional to 'just thinking about it'. As we add new members, we find ways to improve our craft and share experiences on that path. We applaud the achievements of our more advanced members and encourage those of the beginner, and hope that by developing relationships and friendships, the organization will become even stronger.WCCW meets the third Monday of every month from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Our members have formed small critique groups which vary from time to time. We have undertaken such community projects as an annual poetry reading in celebration of National Poetry Day, writing contests for students in White County and an open challenge to groups and citizens of White County to raise funds for the public library. WCCW also hosts an annual which is attended by writers from Arkansas and most of her surrounding states. The conference is held on Labor Day weekend.
