[11]Searcy Public School Teacher of the Year Advanced Placement Spanish teacher Lori Nielsen was named the 2011-2012 Searcy Public School Teacher of the Year. Wednesday Oct. 5, Nielsen was honored with a ceremony held in the Searcy Public School's board room and was given a plaque and $750 to be spent in her classroom. Nielsen, a graduate of the University of Arkansas, has spent her entire teaching career at Searcy High School. Searcy High School Principal Claude Smith, who has known Nielsen for 35 years, said Nielsen could be the teacher of the year every year when it comes to how much work she puts into the school. Searcy Public Schools would like to thank Ms. Nielsen for her hard work and dedication to her students and the school district. |
