Down turns in the automotive field to blame for the ITT brake pad plant closing in Searcy. Tom Glover a spokesman for the company tells the Daily Citizen this morning, ITT will permanently close its doors at the end of the month.

At its peak ITT had around 60 employees but that number had dwindled to near 30 as the company slowly began to phase out operations at their Searcy plant in late 2007.
