The Arkansas Family Council Action Committee is out again collecting signatures for another ballot measure…they’ll need to get a total of 62,000 of them by July 7th to get the adoption and foster care measure on the November Ballot.

The proposal, already approved by Attorney General Dustin McDaniel, would ban unmarried people who live with domestic partners from becoming foster parents or adopting children. Jerry Cox, with the Family Council says they have already collected about half of the signatures they need.

Opposition for the proposal comes from Arkansas Families First. Debbie Wilhite with the group says that the proposal is a bad law and bad public policy that would only hurt kids.
