Mayor LaForce Looking to Upgrade City Pool
Searcy Mayor Belinda LaForce wants to upgrade the city pool. Her proposal is an ambitious one; she wants to build not just a new pool but a new aquatic center. The idea has been met with some skepticism, but the Mayor says it would be a benefit for everyone in the region. The idea is to have an indoor facility that would serve many needs in the community, from athletics to therapy. Mayor LaForce has discussed the idea with the City Parks Commission but it has not gone much further. Either way the mayor says something has to be done about the current pool situation which is shaky at best.
