After much counting, hand wringing and paperwork recount results for three races in White County were released yesterday and there were no changes in the outcome. Mark Pate and Phyllis Worley will still run off for the Searcy Division District Judge position in November. Other results that did not change; Horace Taylor still edged out Cathy Foster by one vote for the Democratic JP District 1 seat and Bobby Burns beat Larry Fisher for the Republican JP District 2 seat.
Also released yesterday a letter from Election Commissioner Dianne Thomas, in it she explains the mis-steps and corrections the commission took to rectify problems and procedural errors that happened in last month’s election. Full text of the letter is printed in today Daily Citizen. All told, Thomas says in her letter, no votes were lost and all vote totals have been reconciled.
