Harding University senior cross-country runner Matt Cregger was named ESPN the
Magazine Men's Track and Field/Cross Country Academic All-District VI on
Thursday. It was Cregger's third consecutive Academic All-District
honor.
In 2007, Cregger earned cross-country All-Gulf South Conference
honors for the third time by finishing 13th at the GSC Championship. A native of
Chapin, S.C., Cregger is also a three-time Academic All-GSC
honoree.
Cregger is a management major and computer science minor with a
3.83 grade point average.
The ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District
teams are voted on by the district's sports information directors. District VI
includes NCAA II, NCAA III, and NAIA schools in Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico,
Oklahoma and Mississippi.
Cregger will now move on to the Academic
All-America ballot. The Academic All-America Team will be released Monday, June
23.
