Des Arc Goes Under
Flood waters in Des Arc are expected to begin a slow decline over the next few days after reaching nearly 34 feet earlier this week. Des Arc is the latest town to go underwater as the White River slowly purges itself from recent heavy rains. Fortunately, crews in Des Arc were able to keep some of water at bay with timely work on the levees. Last check the White in Des Arc was just over 33 feet.Governor Beebe was in Des Arc yesterday having a look at things, while officials from FEMA were scattered across Arkansas surveying flood damage.
