Starting pay for a firefighter is about $25,000 and includes health insurance, vacation time, and a retirement plan. We will provide you with all the training necessary to become a firefighter.
Applications for Employment may be filled out at City Hall located at 401 W. Arch Ave. They will be held on file for six months. When an opening becomes available at the fire department, we will collect the applications from City Hall and review them. Calls will then be made to schedule interviews. Once you have completed the interview process you will be sent for a drug screen and a background check will be conducted. Upon successful completion of those, we will schedule you for a physical agility test. To see the requirements of this test, click here. Employees for the available positions will be picked from those that complete the physical agility test within the allotted time.
