Harding Pharmacy Students Attend Summer Leadership Institute
Two Harding University pharmacy students attended the Summer Leadership Institute in Washington, D.C. July 10-12.
The event, sponsored by Proctor and Gamble, is an opportunity for chapter officers of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists to develop and strengthen their leadership skills through a series of educational and interactive sessions. Students are encouraged to identify their leadership style and build strategies for teamwork and effective communication.
Celia Proctor, president of Harding’s student pharmacist chapter, attended the conference.
“As chapter president,” says Proctor, “attending the SLI conference was an opportunity to observe and cultivate the leadership skills that will provide our chapter a foundation to grow into one that is strong and striving.”
Student Rami Beiram also volunteered to attended the conference.
“Becoming an influential leader is not an overnight process,” says Beiram. “Attending conferences such as SLI puts you on the path to becoming a future leader not only at Harding but also in the profession of pharmacy.”
