Searcy Lions Club 52nd Annual Auction Help your community while getting great deals on items from local businesses! On August 13, 14 and 16, members of the Searcy Lions Club will be auctioning off over 250 different items as they work to raise funds to help the visually impaired in White County. It’s the 52nd Annual Lions Club Auction, and you can join the excitement from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on both radio and television. According to Lions Club President Danny Wood, Searcy area merchants have been generous with their donations. “We will be auctioning off everything from ice cream to animal neutering,” he laughed. “You can’t get much more variety than that!” Technical support for the event will be provided by Harding University, which will air the auction on KVHU 95.3 and on cable channel 16. “We have a waiting list of folks who need eye care,” said Dr. Cliff Ganus, Jr. This longtime Lions Club member has been a part of the Searcy club since 1947. “Our biggest goal is to make sure that children who need eye exams and glasses get these services before school starts.” The Searcy Lions Club raises around $10,000 in this annual event. All proceeds go toward providing eye care to White County residents who need the community’s help. Just think: You will be able to help make our community a better place right from the comfort of your living room. Please join your friends and neighbors by tuning in to KVHU 95.3 on the radio, or to cable channel 16 from 6:00 9:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, August 13, 14, and 16. A child is waiting for your help. Join with us to make a difference! View a complete list of items here or look for the full page list in The Daily Citizen this weekend. |
