WCMC Auxiliary Installs Officers for 2012-2013 The White County Medical Center Auxiliary recently installed officers for the 2012-2013 Auxiliary Board of Directors at its annual awards luncheon. Officers include (seated): Kathy Gammill, President; Verna Payne, Vice President; Irene Opel, Secretary; Mary Anne Gateley, Treasurer; and, (standing) Representatives Donna Harvey, June Tripp, Joe Goldman and Gracie Wheeler. WCMC Auxiliary members provide non-clinical support in various areas throughout the hospital. Last year alone, volunteers contributed more than 36,000 hours of service to the hospital. The WCMC Auxiliary has made numerous contributions to the hospital over the years. Most recently, the Auxiliary fulfilled its commitment of $150,000 to help build the new Cancer Center of Excellence and has given $30,000 of its $50,000 commitment toward the robotic da VinciTM Surgical System. The mission of the Auxiliary is to support White County Medical Center by purchasing equipment, and providing funds for buildings and healthcare items that help the hospital best meet the needs of patients. The Auxiliary’s primary means of raising money to donate to the Foundation is through managing the Carousel Gift Shoppes on the WCMC North and South Campuses, as well as the Moxie Appearance Center and Gift Shoppe in the Cancer Center of Excellence.
