The White County Sheriff's office has reported that pilot J.P. Freppon of Bald Knob has survived the crash of a crop duster around 1:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon in Higginson.

The Sheriff's office says Freppon, 32, was able to dump the plane's load of fertilizer before trying to make an emergency landing in a nearby field.

It was also reported that Freppon walked away from the crash with no injuries, however his plane did catch fire.

The Higginson Fire Department put out the blaze, which also spread to grass along the roadside.
