The Lunch Box holds Ribbon Cutting The Lunch Box is one of Searcy’s newest restaurants featuring home cooking in a quick and quaint way. Owners, Jason and Joy Vanwinkle, held a Ribbon Cutting celebration in conjunction with the Searcy Regional Chamber of Commerce on May 4, 2012. The new location at 1100 East Race Ave is conveniently located in the old A&W Restaurant building. “A lot of our food comes from my grandma’s recipes,” said Joy Vanwinkle, owner and operator. “We try to use fresh ingredients and to give a home feel to everything we do.” Patrons can pick from one of their two daily specials and then feast on their vegetable bar. They offer homemade desserts, including fried pies, served up in the restaurant’s quaint country shabby chic décor. The Lunch Box offers to go orders and catering is available with advanced notice. “I am truly blessed to have this opportunity,” said Vanwinkle. “And I give thanks by blessing our food every day before we serve it”.
