White County Medical Center associates have selected LaTonya Slaughter, RN on 4 South, as the Associate of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2012. WCMC administrative representatives recently surprised Slaughter with the announcement, along with flowers and gifts.

“I love our cardiac patients and my co-workers,” she said. “Everyone is great to work with, and I enjoy taking care of patients and teaching them ways to improve their lifestyle, which can be challenging. When I see a job that needs to be done, regardless of what it is, I want to do it well. To me, there is no such thing as a CSA job or a housekeeping job; if something needs to be done, it needs to get done.”

Slaughter’s spirit of teamwork is one of the attributes of the Associate of the Quarter; other attributes include high values, a positive attitude and sense of professionalism. Core values of the hospital include:  integrity, compassion, excellence, stewardship, innovation and servanthood.
