Harding Pharmacy Students Win Competition

Jun 26, 2009

Three pharmacy students from Harding University achieved
victory at the Nonprescription Medication Academy’s annual Over the
Counter Competition.

The contest was associated with this year’s Arkansas Pharmacist
Association meeting on June 13. Janice McKean of Searcy, Crystal
Payton of Jonesboro, Ark., and Celia Proctor of Lead Hill, Ark., were
joined by pharmacists C.A. Kuykendall and Melissa Liddle.

The Harding team defeated contestants from the University of Arkansas
for Medical Sciences in the final round of the Jeopardy-style
competition. Their first place trophy, currently on display in the
Office of Student Affairs and Admissions, will remain at Harding until
next year’s competition.

Harding had a record enrollment this year of more than 6,500 students
from 48 states and 52 foreign countries. It is the largest private
university in Arkansas and attracts more National Merit Scholars than
any other private university in the state. Harding also maintains
campuses in Australia, Chile, England, France/Switzerland, Greece,
Italy and Zambia.
