Harding Pharmacy Students Win CompetitionJun 26, 2009 Three pharmacy students from Harding University achieved victory at the Nonprescription Medication Academy’s annual Over the Counter Competition.
The contest was associated with this year’s Arkansas Pharmacist Association meeting on June 13. Janice McKean of Searcy, Crystal Payton of Jonesboro, Ark., and Celia Proctor of Lead Hill, Ark., were joined by pharmacists C.A. Kuykendall and Melissa Liddle.
The Harding team defeated contestants from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in the final round of the Jeopardy-style competition. Their first place trophy, currently on display in the Office of Student Affairs and Admissions, will remain at Harding until next year’s competition.
Harding had a record enrollment this year of more than 6,500 students from 48 states and 52 foreign countries. It is the largest private university in Arkansas and attracts more National Merit Scholars than any other private university in the state. Harding also maintains campuses in Australia, Chile, England, France/Switzerland, Greece, Italy and Zambia.
