Autism Spectrum Disorders: Understanding Characteristics and Instructional Implications for Educators

Dr. Brenda Smith Myles will present, “Autism Spectrum Disorders: Understanding Characteristics and Instructional Implications for Educators” at Sidney Deener Elementary on July 15th.

The characteristics of autism spectrum disorders will be highlighted and linked with effective interventions that can be used across multiple settings. Emphasis will be placed on the cycle of tantrums, rage, and meltdowns that are experienced by many on the spectrum. The causes and behaviors that indicate a meltdown is likely to occur, including interventions that can be used throughout the cycle.
