Collins Creek was a 1135 Cost Share Project between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission for habitat restoration of Brook Trout. By piping water from the dam to the creek, a continuous stream is provided for trout reproduction. A nature trail was also constructed alongside the stream with a portion handicap accessible.
